Criteria for the Aluminum Clamps TBHK

1. Diameter of the Cable Clamps

The mounted cable clamp should surround the cable as much as possible, so the cable clamps are largely adapted to the diameter of the cable.

Depending on the producer, plastic clamps cover a diameter range with differences of up to 25 mm between the largest and smallest diameters.

Understandable: injection molds are very expensive.

This is not a problem, as long as the cable diameter is close to the maximum diameter of the clamp, but in the opposite case: deformation of the cable by the pressure could occur. Doubling with ribbons? In the long run no 100% hold with tensile load (cable heating!)

Our clamps are cast with the desired degree or, if you want it exactly, turned to the desired level.

2. Width of the Clamps

Our clamp is designed to minimum width, which allows small cable spacing, without the clamps on for example mounted on a cable tray must attach. This often saves a second mounting rail on the cable cup.

When clamped flat, the clamp width corresponds approximately to the cable spacer TBHK 314.

3. Easy installation

Through the laterally opened mounting slots, the mounting screws can be pre-assembled. In the case of mounting holes, the clamp lower part can be easily threaded laterally by the screws slightly inclined and then in the slots straight back, the upper part is then easily put on. The hold of the screw is achieved by the counterbore, which is adapted to the diameter of the disc.

When using mounting rails, the installation is very easy anyway: Try to fix a clamp without laterally open mounting holes in a mounting rail cast in concrete! Every fitter knows what I mean!

The clamps are of course stackable by using two parts. The upper part of the first clamp forms the base of the overlying clamp.

It would be for example also a triangular arrangement possible to fix 2 cables with clamp lower parts, screw the third cable clamp. Or you could screw a piece of mounting rail 50/30, then sits on the third clamp, an arrangement in the equilateral triangle.

4. Clamp base separately fixable

The clamp type, which is used for over 95 mm cable diameter, the lower part is fixable, which for example can be a big advantage in vertical course.

This can be done either with a long bolt with additional nut or with a nut length = 3d (36mm for M12), which has the advantage that the cable does not have to be lifted so far when lifting. The lateral recess is dimensioned so that you can tighten the nut for the lower part even with the upper part still with the open-end wrench.

But even with the clamps of the symmetic type you can fix the mounting bolt with a mother for the time being and then push the bottom part on it, so that it is not fixed firmly but still does not need to be held.

These clamps were produced several thousand times in the meantime, tested by Wien-Strom for short-circuit strength and already used as a standard clamp.
